Help me understand audio tracks and their dependencies

Hello folks
I hope that someone can explain to me how the audio tracks are related to each other. If you look at the following picture:
Why is the "DTS 3/2+1 English" audio track listed under the "DTS HD Lossless English" audio track?
Are they related in some way? Most importantly: are they dependant on each other? Will I loose anything by ONLY selecting the DTS HD track?
If I highlight the "DTS 3/2+1 English" audio track the description states that it is the "Core audio track". What does the "core" mean? Does it mean that it is the default audio track or something else?
