Just curious about the technical workings of forensic marks. Not sure if they are the same from Blu Ray to UHD.

Do they survive the decryption and later (presumed) encoding of files? I have read about peoples drives being added to a table burned onto discs to prevent being read. It seems like it would be relatively simple to discover and remove compared to disc decryption.

If theres a wiki page that explains this better I would be happy to read it. Just havent found much outside this site.

That depends on the mark itself. If it's embedded in the video or audio, like "Cinavia" watermark protection, yes, it will be passed through. But, you are not obligated to play the files on a "certified Blu Ray player", so it means little.

I'm not sure what happens with the AACSv2.1 watermarking, because that doesn't affect me. Mike would have that information.
