I have reinstalled the current mac version 3 times today.. since it started asking for the key again (i had only put the key in 2 days ago from the main post on the forum here). every time open it now its says
"This application version is too old. Please download the latest version at
http://www.makemkv.com/ or enter a registration key to continue using the current version."
it accepts the key but on restart it wants the above.
stumped as to what to do since its still in beta. I considered buying but i would rather pay in USD than have the system 'convert' at what terms it feels are fair, which it won't allow me to do.
thanks

I read that -- "However, the beta key that is linked to above, DOES expire periodically, in part to make sure people remember to stay current with the beta,"
However i DO have the current beta - i've removed & reinstalled it 5 times
(MakeMKV 1.14.7 for Mac OS X
Requires x64 Mac OS X 10.6 or later.)

The current Beta Key "is valid until end of January 2020"
So wait for an Beta Key update or buy an permanent key.

It's been in beta 10 years. So as much as i like the product i would prefer to purchase a Finished product. Also, the site forces its own exchange to canadian - at about 44% !! (i pay 25% or less exchange if i bought it in USD).
Anyways -- The dev extended the key date (interesting their post doesn't show as new). so the problem is solved.

That is a byproduct of Mike wanting to keep the link the same. The date doesn't update when you edit a message, just when it is created.
As for exchange rates, that's really out of Mike's hands. He set a price in US Dollars, and the payment processor adjusts it to local currency, including adding VAT or other local taxes, which do not exist in the US.

Ten years and you still can’t cough up the $50 to buy a legit key? Wow, just wow.
