Problem with subtitles in Avatar

Hi,
i have some problems with the avatar rip. There are used 2 different subtitles (german) and i marked the second one cause that is the one to show all talking when the aliens use there own language. The problem is, when you mark that subtitle, it is shown for the first time and all is fine but the last words that are shown do no more disappear. They are shown until there is a new talk. You have to de-select the subtitle and select it again. Any ideas?

Looks like a player problem. What player do you use?

This seems to be a problem with ffmpeg. Subtitles are "sticky" in the XMBC betas and also the hot fixed Plex 9.

I am having this problem with all players I use. VLC, Plex Server on Rock. Is there any solution besides re-encoding to something with hardcoded subs?

The problem you attached to is from 2010.... A lot has changed in 5 years! Support for PGS subtitles in MKV files has come to most player software an a lot of hardware players.

The problem is that many will ignore flags like "default" and "forced"; You just have "on" and "off" for whole tracks, and might not have the correct one displayed. Knowing how your particular player handles them will lead you to which tools are needed to "fix" it.
