NOOB question

I'm fairly new here and have been reading a fair amount about the drives and what is supports. I currently have a WH14NS40 Service code NS40 1.03. Works OK, I've been encountering issues more each week. Im looking to get a drive that will support UHD. What would be the most recommended and easiest to implement? and is there something I can do firmware wise to improve the performance of my WH14NS40 and my blu ray experience?

Welcome! You're current drive is as good as it's likely to get. That said, recommended drives for UHD compatibility are listed here:

'Friendly' drives (with correct FW) are currently supported. Recent reports indicate 'official' drive support will soon follow.
