Wasn't exactly sure where to put this, but I felt I should post the issue I was having and the work around I found to correct it.
I normally rip to a network share and have been doing so without issue for years. A failed drive has caused that network share to go offline and since every time I tried to open a disc or the preferences menu I received an error and the MakeMKV application crashed. Reinstalling the software did not resolve the issue either. I found a registry key at Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MakeMKV that was pointing to the network share still. Changing the path_DestDirMRU key to a local folder allowed the app to work again as normal.
Bug causing crash when network share is offline.
