Will "makemkv" support transcoding directly ?

Hi Perry,

MakeMKV is a format converter, "transcoder". It converts the video from disc into MKV files, preserving most information but not changing it in any way.
May be I'm not getting your question right...?

Thank you

Hi Mike,

Since the file size of BD is huge, some people would like to re-encode the video with lower bit-rate

due to disk space issue. If "makemke"can support video H.264 re-encode (or VC1 -> H.264 transcode")

in the transformation process, it will be great.

re-encoding takes a lot of time so it is not possible to re-encode video at drive read rate. There are many freeware tools to re-encode video.
