Hi. Can you please try to run console version (makemkvcon) and see if the problem still occures? You will need to run the following commands:

makemkvcon info disc:0
and
makemkvcon mkv disc:0 all c:\some_folder

, assuming you have a single optical drive. if you have multiple drives run "cddump l" to list all the drives. Please let me know if makemkvcon will crash or not.
