I have some Blu Ray movies ripped to my HDD via AnyDVD. It seems to me that the only way to use MakeMKV is with the disc in the drive. Can I use MakeMKV on BDMV and Certificate files on my HDD?
Thank you for your help!

Yes you can... but why do you not have your original disks?

Yes. Select Open from menu and navigate to BDMV folder.

Because I, in the process of figuring out which program I liked better rip the video/audio, ripped the blu ray onto my hard drive, using AnyDVD, so the potential programs could use THAT source of the video transcode and encode because my hard drive is a lot faster than my BD drive. So I own the discs I'm ripping.

Yes. Select Open from menu and navigate to BDMV folder.
I navigated to the BDMV folder and nothing happens but the folder gets open. Is there another folder or file I need to open next? See attachments. I uploaded a picture of what I see after double-clicking the BDMV folder.
Thank you for your help!

Hi!
And then click on either of the two ".BDMV" files, "index.bdmv" or "MovieObject.bdmv"

Thanks for the help! ripping the disc to your computer first before making it into a MKV with MakeMKV is a lot faster than using MakeMKV with a disc in the drive. It took the program 10min to make Clash of the Titans a .MKV rather than 1hr 30min. Thanks for all your help!

Now that I have these 30GB files what is the easiest way to compress them to still have HD but now as big of a file. Is this possible? If I use handbrake and keep the dimensions as 1920x1080 will it still compress it but keep it HD?
Thanks

Another issue came up. When ripping Blu ray movies that have some subtitles such as "Taken". What boxes do i check to get just the forced subtitles? when i check the English forced only boxes i still don't get the subtitles. Is there something more i have to do? I added a picture of what i check when i last ripped it.
Thanks again for your help.

There aren't any guarantees. The only way to know for sure is demux all the PGS streams in the MKV that aren't zero length and load them into BDSup2Sub. It will tell you if any in that stream are forced.
