How do I get a registration key?

Getting an error when I run makemkv:
"This application version is too old. Please download the latest version at / or enter a registration key to continue to use the current version."
There are 2 buttons - "OK" and "Register". OK dumps me out of the application and Register requires entry of a valid registration key. What I've seen in the forums is how to get a registration key from within makemkv but how do I get it if the application doesn't run.
I've tried reinstalling but to no avail....
