Timestamps on Announcement postings

Why do the announcement postings show up with ancient dates on them? For example, the "MakeMKV beta 1.10.5 released" post shows a date of "Thu Mar 04, 2010 7:56 am". Is it because a posting is being updated in place instead of a new post added? This makes it harder to keep track of when a release came out.

That's because Mike only edits those messages, rather than replacing them. It's VERY irritating. I've mentioned it to him a few times.
He hasn't listened to me.

Could be it's late at night and I'm overthinking your post but the link in the Announcement post your referencing shows you the revision history.
Can't say I frequent that post, I guess because I'm registered and the app always alerts me to updates.

It's not really over-thinking it - we've had people ask on the forum, "Is this application still under development? It hasn't been updated since 2010..." They're referring to the message Keith is pointing to.
And, if Mike replaced the posts instead of editing, they'd show up for everyone as having changed when they enter the forum.
The DOWNSIDE to this is with the current beta key - if it wasn't edited in place, the link would change.
Compromise would be to leave that particular message in place, and replace the others as they're updated.
But, again, Mike doesn't listen to me...

Well, he should.
You're an asset to both the Handbrake and makmkv forum.
I'll have a word with him.
