i ripped all my 3D blurays to MKV, i then decided i didnt want the 3D anymore, so i ran the 3D MKV's through MakeMKV again and un ticked the MVC stream, the resulting files play audio and the video is black screen.

no apps see the MVC stream, except TSmuxer see the 3d-pg-planes in the video stream, but no option to remove them.

anyone know how to remove them from the video stream?

You can use mkvmerge from mkvtoolnix to copy the files without the MVC track, or use something like handbrake to recode the video more efficiently, and it will ignore the MVC track for you.

mkvtoolnix says there is no mvc track, i have ran it through mkvtoolnix, the output file has the same issue as the source

handbrake says the files are not valid

I was referring to running the "3D MKV files" through mkvmerge to remove the track that way, not run the already-processed files through it.

Personally, I've never tried opening an MKV file with MakeMKV, because there are other tools to work with. MakeMKV is to get the video off the disk.

ah, ok. i already deleted the 3D MKV's and no longer have the discs.

im trying to recover the MKV with the removed MVC track that don't play the video stream.

is there a way to edit the video stream to remove the 3d-pg-planes:32? it is stored in codecprivate i believe
