I'm trying to contact support but not successful as yet. I had to install a previous Win10 image and now I can't enter the serial successfully in MakeMKV. I purchased the program. I get the message "The stored activation key is invalid. I guess someone tampered with the settings. Please purchase an activation key etc... I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and redownloading but to no avail. How long should I wait for support ?

support@makemkv.com is the fastest way to get hold of Mike, and he is the one who can deal with activation key issues.

I assume you've gone back to the email from avangate.com and copied/pasted the key directly out of there into the registration box on MakeMKV already.

Yes I Have .Interestingly when you copy and paste the serial ,the minus sign is not copied as in (M-_X etc) becomes (M_Xetc) for the serial code. Mike has not replied as yet.
