Moving key

Post by Bdadtoo »

Morning. I've been using MakeMKZV (paid for it) on a PC that I am retiring and want to move to a new box. How do I go about transferring the key? Is there a file or registery entry that can be moved?

Install MakeMKV on the new machine, then put in your registration key from your email. That's the only way I know to do it.

Somewhat related. I assume your response means the license is transferable.

Do you know if it can be used on more than one PC? I generally rip on my home PC, but I just picked up a fast PC at work that I could use (for personal purposes) to rip some disks if I wanted too...Of course I'm limited to 4TB which is mostly full, so that may have to wait a bit.

As I remember things, the license is for "one user". If you're not letting others use your work machine to rip while you're at home ripping, I think that qualifies.

I have it installed on 3 machines, but I'm the only one using any of them.

Last year, I bought MakeMKV for my Linux-based laptop. I am now using a Windows-based laptop. I tried using the same key from my Linux system to my Windows system, but it does not work. How can I transfer my license to my new Windows system?

Nevermind... I retried the key and it worked.
