Any DVD HD is basically done with (to my knowledge)... So with other programs that I've used with the Astounding MakeMKV to store and watch my personal collection of Movies gathered over the years, that are no longer being updated (but I love the UI basic function of them, in this case TMT 6), can or could MakeMKV be used now or at one point in the future (with updates or new features with a Purchased Product Key) to be used to decrypt a BD-disc and then played in BD-Disc Software for HTPC use?

This would change the game for HTPC as there are many that are migrating to Windows 10 and there are only 2 software's that play BD well and 3D-BD... But both are a little more work than the previously stated TMT6 for those of us running a Monitor and a Large screen format 3D 4K TV....

MakeMKV will not decrypt discs for use with other software. Just tested with TSMuxer and no dice.

FYI, AnyDVD is not gone at all. The original developers are continuing the project under the RedFox banner. Google for more info.

Nope. Would be nice to have an all in one decrypter and MKV creation tool.

Good to hear. I will check out Redfox. Would this work with TMT6, I wonder.

I may test this out and report back. I use Splash pro for BD MKV playback but with 3D-BD MKVs they have to be converted to SBS/UO and then switching the TV to 3D manually. And then Arcsoft TMT 6 for 3D Blu-Ray play back as no switch from my monitor to my 3DTV was needed... BUt they have stopped updating their software and abandoned it. So if RedFox would work to open the BD's up for playing through Arcsoft, I would do that. The Palyer is clean and simple with a friendly UI.

okay, so I tried AnyDVD with Arcsoft TMT6 on my Nvidia GTX 950 and it did bring up a 3D signal but only in anaglyph on TMT6... I even made sure that the settings for TMT6 were set to SBS and 3DHD TV 1.4 and it wasn't any better. I did setup the stereoscopic settings for the LG 65UH8500 last night before watching the Legend of Hercules in 3D on PowerDVD 16 Ultra and it detected, looked and played beautifully...

So one last try with the TMT6 and AnyDVD combo before sticking with PowerDVD 16u for now... Going to pop out my GTX950 and try my Sapphire HD 5770 Vapor-X Radeon card being that this is what I used originally with TMT6 without issues or even having to switch to one display using "Windows+P" key combo... So I will report back later this evening after supper and the swap out...

UPDATE:

Good News.... RedFox DVD HD (yes I know AnyDVD HD, ha ha) 8.0.3.1 beta installed on a machine with Windows 7 64bit allows Arcsoft TMT6 to play Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray's previously not supported by Arcsoft's discontinued decryption support WITH ATI/AMD Graphics Cards and Drivers, WITHOUT having to switch screens AND my LG 65UH8500 Detects the 3D signal and switches to 3D mode Automatically.

This is on two screen (i.e monitor and 4K, 3D, Smart TV) setups and will definitely support single screen setups (HD 3D and 4k, 3D TV's)...

Latest Nvidia drivers (including 3D vision drivers [excluding 3DTV Play software] installed) and my GTX 950 would produce ONLY an anaglyph 3D signal... No SBS or O/U...

Things that I changed from this software and hardware combination setup from my last attempt were:

1. Using the lastest beta download from RedFox's forum of AnyDVD HD, 8.0.3.1 Instead of 8.0.3.0
2. Sapphire AMD HD Radeon 5770 Graphics card with driver suite 14.4 with Drivers 8.1 (I'm sure it would work with newer drivers as well)

Net step in this elimination process will be to reinstall the Nvidia GTX 950 and latest drivers with AnyDVD HD version 8.0.3.1 to see if there is a change as well as using the AMD Radeon HD 5770 Card and driver suite 14.1 (driver 8.1) with the older version of AnyDVD HD to see if their is a correlating conflict with the 8.0.3.0 AnyDVD HD version software...

I will report back tomorrow after enjoying a few new 3D Movies in Full 1080p tonight! Already have RIO 3D check off with the kids...

Considering "The Wolverine" or "The Martian" with the wife!

P.S. The LG UH8500 series 4K, 3DTV's can be watched in 3D clearly from about 150 degree angle. Awesome unit.
