Hi, I am all into Dolby Atmos movies. For some strange reason, the original blue rays in the US have a TrueHD track with Atmos and when they are here in the Netherlands, the Atmos is gone in favor of Dutch subtitles. A license thing or so?

Anyway, just wanted to check although I am already 99% sure what the answer is, if I buy a bunch of discs on Amazon in the US and make MKV's I do not have to worry about the US region code since they never hit a physical blu ray player here.

MakeMKV tries to work around region coding, and is successful most of the time (I have not had it fail yet). Some DVD drives will not allow you to work around it, but they are rare. And I think BD drives do not enforce regions. I buy both European and Asian disks and rip them with my US/North American region drives.

MKV files do not have any region coding.

All of that said, you need another tool in your toolbox - search for "mkvtoolnix", and download the appropriate version for your computer. It will allow you to take the tracks you want from multiple MKV files if necessary, and combine them into one.
