Grabbed 1.5.4 beta shareware, and it read my drive just fine. As soon as I "registered" with the beta key from the forums, the program began saying "no usable drives found".

Uninstalling and reinstalling made the drive visible again - but I haven't tried to re-enter the beta key.

The program is reporting my drive as the following:

HD-DVD-ROM HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW GGC-H20L 1.02

I have this drive and did not have an issue with the beta key. Try upgrading to firmware 1.03 (The latest), you might want to use mediacodeedit to unlock fullspeed ripping too.

Make sure the you launch MakeMKV as administrator, right click on the icon, select "Run as administrator".
