I haven't seen other posts on this

FYI: it seems the latest nightly builds of VLC are now providing support for BlueRay PGS subtitles.

I've read that support is limited at the moment, but I've had chance to try with one movie ripped by MakeMKV, and it worked perfectly.

Trouble with VLC and .mkv if you touch the slider it goes away.

XBMC also has support for PGS subtitles. This all came out of ffmpeg adding PGS support back in Sept 09 IIRC. The slider issue with VLC exists, but is improving. The only issue I have seen with the subtitles is that the last piece displayed in a scene lingers on screen for awhile or until some other dialog replaces it.

Pretty much anything thats based off of ffmpeg (vlc, xbmc, mplayer) support PGS subtitles now, because ffmpeg supports it ;)
