app is hanging during save process

I am having an issue with a few BD movies. some of them are the original and some have been recompressed using BD rebuilder. In both cases makeMKV seems to hang at the end of the file saving cycle. the time remaining = 0, no more data is being shown as writing to the hard drive and no further progress is showing on the progress bars. I have noted that the makemkvconv process and the gui process are both still running but the conv process is showing 50% cpu usage. Also note that when i kill the conv process i see a dialog box flash on the screen as if the "done" box that comes up at the end had tried to initialize but never displayed until the process was terminated.
this behavior occurs on two different machines. one xp one vista. i have tried writing to both internal and external hard drives. both machines are running makemkv 1.5. makeMKV has worked on a number of straight BD rips as well as BD Rebuilder rips. The issue seems isolated to a handful of movies. The movies in question can be played via BD software player as well. However the resulting mkv file from makemkv can not be played.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!
Regarding only the specific problematic MKVs - Do the original, purchased BluRay discs play properly on the same system(s) that you've tried playing the problematic MKVs on?

Please enable "log debug messages" in preferences, restart the program, redo the disc and see if any DEBUG messages would show up. In this case please send produced log file to
support@makemkv.com .

The error in this one shows that data is corrupted. On that particular movie studios released a major BD+ update and because you're opening already decrypted files my guess is that BD+ was removed incorrectly by the program you used to remove it. I can assure you that MakeMKV can handle original BD disk of that movie.

so just for gigles and grins i demuxed the bd rebuilder file and remuxed it using mkvmerge. the resulting file played fine. To recap: the resulting rip with anydvd will play in powerdvd. The rip converted with BD Rebuilder plays correctly. Demuxing the BD rebuilder files and remuxing as an mkv with mkvmerge plays correctly. The only app having any issues is makeMkv. Based on this it would appear that the issue lies within makeMKV.

Thank you for reporting. Your problem is completely different, and you are the first to report it. In your case MakeMKV fails to process subtitle stream, try de-selecting all subtitles on this discs until the error gets corrected.

That particular rip of yours is corrupted, that's a fact. Log doesn't show what particular streams are corrupted. MakeMKV transcodes M2TS to MKV, and for that it parses input stream to a great level of detail. Players tend to ignore small corruptions, at worst you will get a video glitch or audio click. MakeMKV on the other hand either creates a perfect copy or errors out. So you are correct, MakeMKV can't handle broken blu-ray rips with corrupted data even if corruption is small and is at the end of file.

so the log provides no indication of where to try and hunt down the issue? i have 5 movies now that have issues.

Do you have a log for any physical disc? You would need to process original discs that you are supposed to have
. Please try the latest 1.5.2 version and if it fails on physical disc, post the log here send to
support@makemkv.com .
