Hancock BR - 4 videos but which one to pick?

Post by pcolmer » Sun Apr 19, 2015 6:29 pm

I'm guessing that the disc contains different versions, e.g. uncut, but I just want to keep the one that would play if I wanted to watch the main version off the Blu-Ray menu. They are actually different versions because the sizes are slightly different.

How can I find out which one that is, please?

Many thanks.

I used the second one - title01, which was the unrated special edition. It uses 00002.mpls, and the following segments: 123, 141, 125, 142, 127, 143, 129, 144, 131, 145, 133, 146, 135, 147, 137, 148, 139, 149, 150. It has a running time of 1.42.14.

The main feature is listed as t00, and is the first entry listed in MakeMKV tagged as the "primary title."

Many thanks, Ripman.

Out of interest, was there a method you used to know which one was which? Since posting yesterday, I've now found more of my Blu-Rays (which I'm freshly converting to MKV) have multiple playlists, e.g. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (both parts) plus other BRs. If there is a general approach I can take, rather than posting to the forum each time I get stuck, that would be brilliant.

The quickest method is to have something like PowerDVD and Process Monitor running. Load up the movie and watch proc mon to see which playlist file is accessed.

Check the threads here for some of the newer releases; the folks are usually on the new titles very quickly (google "makemkv movie").

Samuri's method always works too.
