KODI AutoRipDVD "third party" error

Post by SparkyHT » Sat Jan 31, 2015 3:25 am

I have successfully used MakeMKV to rip BluRays directly from Kodi (XBMC Helix 14.x) using the Advanced Launcher plugin to point towards a script called AutoRipDVD as referenced http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=105168 The operation has been seamless and works without having to leave the XBMC environment... until now. Starting with MakeMKV 1.9.1 when I launch the AutoRipDVD script, I get this message popping up after 5-7 seconds: "You are trying to start MakeMKV evaluation from a third-party application. Please launch MakeMKV if you would like to start the evaluation period." I can no longer use the script to call upon MakeMKV to rip in the background....was this some intended restriction now placed upon MakeMKV, or is this an error that can be eliminated or worked around? If I purchase a license, will this error go away? Can anyone with a Kodi media PC and licensed MakeMKV 1.9.1 verify?

FYI-I have an older system that is running MakeMKV 1.9.0 with Kodi and the ripping is fine, the other system I just built and is using MakeMKV 1.9.1 evaluation is the one with the error message.

Thank you!

Just open any blu-ray disc with MakeMKV, so it could start the evaluation period; or enter the beta key.

Hi there, I have a similar problem, and starting MakeMKV and opening a blu-ray titile doesn't solve it. I've written my own little AutoIt script that uses MakeMKV in command line mode. I've started MakeMKV in GUI mode, opened a Blu-Ray and confirmed to start the 30-day period. Then, no matter if I leave the UI open or close it, I get the error message as soon as I try to start MakeMKV from the script. Please help!

This could happen, you have to "use" the rogram at least once after starting the trial. Convert a single disc with MakeMKV, it should work after that.
