Hi everyone.
I'm new to Make MKV and recently purchased a "like New" but old Memorex slim portable Bluray drive. Initial test setup and disc ran flawlessly and drive is recognized by Windows.
However beyond that I have tried 5 or 6 other discs (both DVDs and standard 1080p Blurays) and get a no disc inserted error on each. Can not open any disc. Drive is powered by 2 USB 2.0 ports.
MakeMKV spits out the following drive info for me.
Has this drive already gone to the big Drive Bay in the sky and have I done something wrong? I'm looking to rip standard blurays, many but not all are Verbatim BD50 BD-R rewriteable.
New to MKV. Drive Issue?

What?
Standard Blu-rays are not written on verbatim discs
You are trying retail discs?
Or burned knockoffs?

Re: New to MKV. Drive Issue?
Both. some commercially available, some family videos, some imported stuff. Only reconized thing so far other than the drive itself, is the included software install cd.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 12, 2025 1:31 pmWhat?

any other disc (DVD or standard Bluray) goes unrecognized by Makemkv and Explorer.
