Mkv backup to iso?

Post by Jman5150 » Sun Nov 05, 2023 7:51 am

I’ve been using mkv backup and storing it on a nas. I was asked if I could make a working Blu-ray from one. Like a working copy of the Original Blu-ray like an iso would make, exact copy. Hadn’t thought of it before , I run everything of hard drives, but thought it was A good question. Tried it and it didn’t work, didn’t think it would, am I right it does’t work that way or did I do something wrong?

I've not tried it, but I've seen people talk about using imgburn to make a playable blu-ray from a BDMV folder.

makemkv doesn't remove java protections (or hdmv region coding), so if the disc has java protections, it likely wont work if one just burns it to an ISO.
