Corrupt or Invalid at Offset... Solved

Post by DudeItsRob » Fri Apr 08, 2022 3:45 pm

Hey everyone, just wanted to share a little story in hopes that it might help someone down the line. TLDR at bottom.

I was having trouble with MakeMkv constantly giving me the Corrupt or Invalid at Offset "xxxx" on my build. I had an ASUS BW-16D1HT that was flashed and had worked well until I put it in my AMD system - so I tried different drives, reflashing, etc and nothing worked. I tried moving the disk drive back into my intel system and it worked flawlessly.
Eventually I gave up on it, and just used my intel for ripping. THEN my AMD started crashing on games and gave me an Access Violation error. Turns out my RAM was failing on the "Hammer test" on Memtest86. It only reported two errors but it was enough to cause long-term issues that went unnoticed.

TLDR - having Corrupt or Invalid at Offset "xxxx" errors and tried everything else? Check your RAM.
