Freewareorary key has expired and was removed...

Post by dasman » Sun Sep 12, 2010 1:05 am

I installed MakeMKV about a month ago and today went to use it and rec'd the following error dialog:

MakeMKV BETA popup
Freewareorary key has exprired and was removed. Please restart the application.

I hit ok, the dialog closes and I try to restart MakeMKV, only to receive the same error message. I assume I need to enter either a BETA key or a purchased key, but if the software doesn't open, how do I enter a key? I tried searching thru the registry with REGEDIT, but didn't see anything that seemed obvious...

I have tried uninstalling the software, rebooting and then reinstalling, only to receive the same error. I am running Win7x64.

I appreciate the help, I have come to depend on the application.

Thanks,

dave steele

I'm getting the same error message. Normally a new Beta release comes out and I install that one.

As a matter of fact I just tried installing 1.5.8 of MakeMKV on another machine and same error. Expiration must be by date.

Is 1.5.9 coming soon?

You can set the clock back a few days on your pc until they resolve the issue.

I just grabbed the new key (says it's good 'til october), set my clock back, ran the program, registered w/ the new key, restarted the program, returned my clock to present time and it worked again!
