episode order

Post by snaykebyte » Mon Mar 27, 2017 8:15 pm

I know the subject has been beat on forever, but really, is there a reliable way to identify the correct order of episodes on TV series disks?

You mean, without watching the files?

No. You're at the mercy of the disk authors. Most do reasonable things, some do not.

For example, Funimation and Sentai put the episodes in order about 98% of the time. They screw them up just about the time I stop looking for them to screw it up.

For me, watching the Info window as I scroll down the titles is helpful; when the episode order is screwed up, you'll see the m2ts file names go wacky, like 000015.m2ts followed by 000014.m2ts, then 000012.m2ts, and similar. When it happens on a multi-disk set, the order is USUALLY consistent.

Copy/paste in expert mode is your friend in cases like this. Usually, I'll make sure the NAME is correct, because the file name will then be similar, and rename the files as they're put on the network.
