Access SATA - Anyway in the stable release?

#1 Post by nicopelle » Wed Sep 23, 2009 11:36 am

Hi Mike.
First of all best compliments for this piece of software.
Small & very functionally.
As beta, i cannot access SATA mode Optiarc BC-5600S (sata bdrom/dvd±rw).
I know all about the workaround of changing mode in bios, but i would to ask u if , in the future stable release, will be possible to access SATA device.
Thanks for your patience and forgive my bad bad english. :P
Best wishes,
Nicola. :D

FWIW, I can access my LG BDROM in SATA mode without any problem.

Are you sure that it's the software (MakeMKV) that is the problem? I haven't heard that it has problems with SATA BDROM drives before. Others may offer their similar or different experiences to give you additional data points.

Hi Marc_G and thanks for your reply.
I've got a SATA drive too (LG GGW-H20L) on desktop, with K8N-DL motherboard.
Of course, MakeMkv works really fine. :D since the first release.
The problem is on the laptop with AHCI driver loaded instead of IDE mode.
For this reason, i would to asking Mike (the coder i suppose) if, when makemkv will be stable, this error will disappear.

Thankyou to all for the attention,
Nicola.

The program can't find any usable optical drives. The BETA version requires administrative privileges for drive access.
