DVD aspect ratio is 1.85:1 - MakeMKV Outputs 16:9

My DVD aspect ratio is 1.85:1. MakeMKV outputs a 16:9 video. Am I missing a setting?

DVD can encode 16:9 and 4:3 exactly. Everything else requires putting black bars on the top and bottom or on the sides.

If your video really is 1.85, you should see very small bars on the top and bottom.

Note: Blu-ray does 16:9 only. Everything else will include bars.

The one exception to this is SD video which can be 4:3 or 16:9, but 99% of users will never see a Blu-ray disc with that outside of some old special features.
