Issues playing/ripping using LG bp50nb40

Hi all,

Unfortunately after a great deal of troubleshooting I've stumbled upon an issue I can not resolve alone.

Playback (Makemkv -> VLC) breaks see attached photo, and ripping yields errors.
I've included more details below, but in short the drive came with "cyberlink powerdvd 18" and as a last resort I tried it and playback was flawless.

I'm using the bp50nb40 LG drive oem firmware 1.3, I've tried 2 and issue is repeatable.

In this example I've been using the BR starwars collection 1-3 and 4-6 2X sets so 12 total, other BRs such as LoTRs functions normally.

My CPU and other PC resources are not under heavy load during playback.

Ripping error:
Error 'OS error - STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom0' at offset '5286721536'

Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00800.m2ts' at offset '5286721536'
