As above I’m trying to rip my hd dvd discs and have rolled back to 1.12.0 to get the discs to read and wondering officially what was the last release to support this ?

The release notes for MakeMKV 1.17.5 claim fixes for ripping HD-DVD. Around the forum there have been reports of HD-DVD ripping being broken in versions later than 1.17.1.

As far as I'm aware, HD-DVD is still supported assuming you have a drive capable of reading HD-DVDs.
