Downton Abbey BD

When determining episode order when there are not duplicates, should I go by the order of the *.mpls files?

0001.mpls, 0002.mpls, 0003.mpls, etc.

They are in a different order when MakeMKV scans the disk, but is the numbering the mpls files the true order?
