I used MKVToolNix to edit some names of audio files and Subtitle tracks and then I clicked "Start Multiplexing". The job output pane says this will take 2 hours to complete! I thought I recall making such edits before and the save was very fast.
What could I be doing wrong?
Thanks!

Re: MKVToolNix for Dummies....
You can change the movie title just by entering the new name in the proper tab and saving. No remux is needed. Maybe that works for audio and subtitle track names also.
Even a remux of a 1GB Handbrake compressed BR movie takes only 10 - 15 seconds.

I keep stopping the job at about 20% because I was seeking another way to save my simple edits..... Here is my output file screen.
I still feel like there is a better way.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
R

Select "Header Editor" on the left side then open your .mkv file. Make the changes you wish and then use "Save" under the "Header Editor" drop down menu.
You will likely get faster and better advice on the MKVtoolnix forum than here.

After selecting Header Editor on the left, I see no way to make edits. I see the values but they seem to be read only. How do you edit with the Header Editor?
Re: MKVToolNix for Dummies....
Expand Audio Track by clicking on the arrow. Click on Name in the expansion and change the Current Value to whatever you like. After you save that will become the new track name.
Experiment - poke around and click to find things.

You are ABSOLUTELY correct. The interface was confusing to me. Now I totally get what you meant.
THANKS!
