I have just built a NEW Home Theatre PC. For years I used one which was running XBMC on Windows 8.1.
The motherboard died, and I finally built a new one - installed the Windows 8.1 which was on it - then upgraded it to Windows 10. All hardware - HDDs and BD-RE drive retained, only MB, RAM, CPU is new.
When I was running an older (do not know the version - and I had PURCHASED IT --- but MakeMKV is not responding to my registration emails to find old version/serial -- Getting quite angry over this!). The SAME BD-RE in this PC was working as I ripped over 60 BR movies to the HDD.
Now when I launch the Latest Downloaded MakeMKV SW (see image) -- It has an error "The program can't find any usable optical drives.". This is insane, as the drive always worked - AND is one of the more common drives out there. Even the LEAWO Player sees the drive and plays DVDs and BRs.
The drive is at the SAME FIRMWARE -- 1.03 (as I stated - nothing changed with the drives).
Why is this DRIVE NOT SEEN??
