Broken video as result convert from vob-file

#1 Post by harryfan » Sun May 16, 2010 10:42 pm

Version 1.5.5 beta. Input vob: http://narod.ru/disk/20735869000/VTS_01_1.VOB.html (743Mb).
Result of conversion is color-squared in many frames and square-form errors on edge of figures.
Probably, error in format conversion.
Source video - cartoone, ntsc

P.S. Sorry for pigin-english :)

Yes, I have this problem too.

This is a vob file from original DVD.
When this DVD opened in MakeMKV (last 1.5.5 version) and conversion, mkv from "this file" (and other) is playing, but if mkv-file demux in mpg - video file is wrong and error... (see previous post)

@harryfan

Hi!

The link you've provided is that of a Slavic (Russian?) language website. Can you provide an English version or translation please?

Get ftp-link: ftp://213.169.66.125/Video_1/VTS_01_1%5B1%5D.VOB

P.S. Conversion from this vob to mpg another utilites (some is DVTool) and muxing with mkvmerge -> normally video.

Yes it may be possible that due to improper conversion that hampers the quality of the video or the video file is not compatable with the player.

But another utilite make the conversion without errors. I use dvtool + mkvmerge and got mkv file with video quality, equal source file. Convert by makemkv as result get broken video.

And I used PGCDemux (m2v) and then mkvmerge.
Video in final MKV-file is correct too.

Therefore, problem in MakeMKV "engine" or what else?
