How can I save a DVD to folder structure?

Post by bpow1920 »

I've tried to backup a DVD to folder structure but the app so far is only making a ISO file. Is this option not possible with a DVD? If so, how can I do it? Thanks.

As you stated, when MakeMKV does a backup of a DVD, it produces an .iso file. I'm not aware of any way to change that.

I would suppose you could mount the .iso file and copy the contents into a folder if you really wanted to.

I usually just use Xreveal or AnyDVD to create a DVD folder. But can do it in two steps with MakeMKV. Generate an .iso file, then extract it with 7zip, WinRAR, WinZip, ISO Buster, etc.

So extracting the iso is essentially making a folder structure? I was used to make it with AnyDVD and only used MakeMKV for the video files. And now I want to change the program for Xreveal or MakeMKV.

Yup. Just extract it and you'll have the folder structure (or use Xreveal which will do it directly).
