TV Series ePISODES

Post by thisbejonas »

Ripped several season of a TV series that had multiple episodes per disk. Used filebot to rename the episodes using "DVD Order". Found out after the fact that they didn't get renamed correctly so is there a way to figure out which episode is which without having to watch each episode and try to compare to all the synopsis? It is Big Bang Theory so there are a ton of episodes to try to filter through.

Two ideas:

a) Open all discs in MakeMKV and compare the file sizes and episode length
b) Rip them all again and compare size/length

Its still much work, but should be much faster then manually viewing all episodes.

I had the same problem with the last season of Lost and it was only one episode in the wrong position and it cost me really much time by manually viewing the episodes.

What I do is play the disc, play the first episode on the disc, skip to the second chapter and play a couple seconds then flick through the MKVs until I find the one that matches with what I played on the disc. Then name the file and move onto the next episode. It can be a lengthy process but it's you're guaranteed to get every file named correctly.

If you use DVDFab Player you can view the episodes and name them directly in MakeMKV before ripping the MKVs because it displays the playlist number through a menu. This is the fastest method I know.

@mgutt

How do you name files directly in MakeMKV? I haven't seen that option

Click on the title and select on the right side in the drop-down "filename" ;)
