Can't use activation code

Hi, just installed the latest 1.10.8 version on Linux. I use the program rarely but just now and then. Now its too old so I wanted to install the registration key. But I can't. I can't find info on what settings file to put the key-string into. When I open the GUI version I can't find any help menu that is mentioned as where to find the reg-dialog box.

Help! I want to register, but I can't.

I can't remember if the Linux GUI version has the same Help->Register menu item as the Windows and Mac versions, but that's where I'd look first. It should update the file that the CLI uses.

It's from an old post & things may have changed, or there may be differences between 'nix distros, but I believe the fundamentals detailed:

'... key is working and located in ~/.MakeMKV/settings.conf

Looks like this :

app_Key = "<key_goes_here>"'
