MakeMKV assigns wrong name to subtitle track

I have more and more occurrences of MakeMKV assigning the wrong language name to the subtitle track.
i.e. The video has Dutch subtitles, but in VLC or Kodi the language name comes up as English or Engels. When the subtitle track is selected, it is actually in Dutch, not in English.
This is a nuisance, not only because it is wrong, but also because I have Dutch subtitles as a default in Kodi and Kodi triggers on the name of the subtitle track. So it won't use the subtitle track by default, if it has a name other than Dutch or Nederlands.
It might be possible to check this before ripping the dvd somehow, but that could be a lot of work and it's no solution for the ones I already have ripped.
Googling on the subject suggests that I should convert the entire mkv file with Handbrake, which would take a lot of time. I can not imagine there is no simpler solution for renaming a subtitle track that is otherwise correct and in sync.
I am still using MakeMKV 1.17.4, very few other complaints about the software.
