Region A blu ray rips
Region A blu ray rips
I live in the UK I have multiple region A blu rays to rip as well as my region B blu rays, do I need to change the region code to do this?

Open MakeMKV
Under "LibreDrive Information" (in the right-hand pane), if it says "Status: Enabled" then you can backup and/or rip discs from any region.
Otherwise, it depends on the region setting of the optical drive. Most drives allow a small number of changes from new before they automatically lock-down the region setting.
Even if you don't have a LibreDrive capable drive, and the disc is the incorrect region, MakeMKV *may* still be able to "workaround" the problem (and will tell you when doing so).
Once ripped, the .mkv files are, of course, region-free. However the menu within the backup folder will still be region coded. If you're trying to play it in VLC Media Player, for example, you may need to change the region code setting within VLC MP.
