first time ripping bluray, mulitple titles?

I've encountered multiple titles on dvds, I usually just play the dvd in vlc and pick that title, however I don't have any bluray player software and MakeMKV is showing three titles all 25GB that all appear to be the same, which do I rip? Is this a form of copy protection the way some dvds have 99 titles?

Depends on the bluray. If it's a Disney title, the files will have 800, 801, and 802 in their names. 800 is the English version (titles and signs in English), 801 is French, and 802 is Spanish.

If it is something like Ender's Game, there are DOZENS or HUNDREDS of potential tracks, only one of which is correct. If you read through some of the "what track?" topics here, you can see what people go through, although there was a link to a Youtube video on how to do it if you have Bluray playback software on Windows.
