Is it okay to rip over my gigabit network
Is it okay to rip over my gigabit network
to a hard drive in my server?
Re: Is it okay to rip over my gigabit network
Depends upon your network. It will work, but.... Some network setups will report the wrong file system type, and limit you to no larger than 4GB files. Not supposed to happen, but it does.
And, of course, depending upon network load, you can get "program reads faster than it can write" warnings.
Many of my rips are across a network to a machine with a 100Mb/s connection, and they work fine, if slower than they would if I went to a different machine.

I get the "program reads faster than it can write" warnings but that's fine.
I have tried it quite a few times (Blu-ray rips) and never had any fail.
