WDTV subtitle issue

Post by greenslam »

Hi all,

I am encountering an issue with subtitles when I am playing them through my WDTV Live player through UMS. My issue is that the subtitles are seemingly burnt into the mkv.

I do use the profile of "WDTV" for ripping. My issue is that the subtitles are seemingly burnt into the mkv. I am unable to stop the playing of the subtitles via any player tools.

VLC has them on by default and I can shut them off.

How can I edit the subtitles to be default off without leaving them not to be ripped? Is there a newbie guide to xml editing?

Win 7 pc using UMS streamer to the WDTV player via wired LAN connection.

It does look like it is a media server issue. I can play the file and adjust the subtitles via network share methods.

Re: WDTV subtitle issue

Looks like it was a UMS issue. I downloaded the latest version and disabled subtitles in its options. Now there is no subtitles forced to display. Saves me a lot of reripping time.
