Okay so first of all, this has nothing to do with subtitles, but a general issue with ripping and encoding. I am trying to rip my Star Wars blu-Ray discs so I can play them on my Plex server through my Samsung TV. I use the same method consistently whenever I rip a blu-ray..... I rip it with MakeMKV, then encode with Handbrake down to a file that is more like 4GB in size to save space on my hard drives. If there are foreign subs, I hardcode them. Very simple process. Rarely have I had any issues with any blu-ray discs, but these Star Wars discs just won't encode.
So here's what happens, I use MakeMKV, keeping all of the audio files. That produces a useable .mkv file. A huge file, but one that works nonetheless. The problem comes when I try to encode and shrink the file. Handbrake crashes every time I try to keep the file in an .mkv format and is unusable if I try to save as a .mp4. I know it has something to do with the audio, but I just don't know enough about it. This is likely the wrong forum and more of a Handbrake problem, but there is a lot of knowledge on this forum and I thought maybe someone could help? I am at the end of my rope as these are the ONLY blu-ray discs I've never been able to get to work using this method and I feel like I've tried everything.

Re: Star Wars Blu-Ray Issues
With out a Handbrake encode log, it's slightly impossible to know why you are having issues.
You are correct, this is a problem to discuss on the Handbrake forum. Make sure you post an encode log!
