SmartTV Compatibility with MakeMKV Files

I have learned that all MKV compatibility can vary depending on how the MKV's are created, so I hesitate to make a purchase based on a TV's specs. I am wondering if the folks on this forum share their experiences with SmartTV models' compatibility with MKV files that have been ripped with MakeMKV (default settings). As I understand it, files ripped with MakeMKV have chapters that should be recognized by player. While I currently have 3 DLNA certified Blu-Ray players, only my LG BP-320 will play MKVs ripped with MakeMKV, and even that one does not recognize chapters.

Just to note, chapter compatibility was improved in 1.8.0 .
