I have some full-size BR and HD rips that are anywhere from ~6.5 to 8.5 GB. On some of the files, (where i'm trying to yank out the subtitles), I'll get the following output AFTER the darn thing is done:
Track #3 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.
Track #4 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.
Track #5 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.
Track #9 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.
Track #10 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.
Track #11 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.
Track #12 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.
Track #13 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.
Track #14 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.
Track #15 of type S_TEXT/UTF8 in MKV file is not recognized and was skipped.

Operation successfully completed
Saving 1 titles into directory D:/movies/Star Wars/Star Wars full BR
Failed to save title 0 to file D:/movies/Star Wars/Star Wars full BR/title00.mkv
0 titles saved, 1 failed
I also am trying to remove a Japanese audio stream (DTS 6 channel @ 1510 Kbps) from my 8.14 GB full 1080p Animatrix mkv, and I get this immediately (i.e. makeMKV won't even open it up)
"The program can't find any usable optical drives."
I have no idea what the problem is. The files themselves are fine. They are in directories where I've successfully used makeMKV to remove 'stuff'. Even in the Star Wars series, I've managed to successfully makeMKV / remove the subtitles for I, V, and VI already, but II, III, and IV just go through the entire process then I get that fail message at the end, which is INSANELY frustrating.
Help?
'can't find usable optical drives'+'Failed to save title 0'
Re: 'can't find usable optical drives'+'Failed to save title
If you're modified the files after MakeMKV ripped them (as illustrated by the presence of non-BD subtitle tracks in the MKV), use mkvmerge GUI, not MakeMKV.
