Subtitle Help

Post by pieronip »

Hi

I'm a new user and know no more about ripping blu-ray than 'find the largest file and untick all the others'.

I am trying to rip 'Troll Hunter' and since my Norwegian is not great, I need the English subtiles. When ripping, I ensured that the 'Subtitles' and 'Subtitles (forced)' boxes beneath the largest file were ticked but there are no subtitles in the output. When I open the resulting .mkv file with MakeMKV, the subtitle boxes are still ticked.

I know this is because I don't really understand what I am doing!

Can anyone help please?

Thanks.

What media player are you using to play the MKV? I'm betting that MakeMKV IS including the subtitles in the MKV file but that your media player just can't/isn't displaying them.

May I suggest VLC player. It supports subtitles in an MKV file and you can turn them on or off as needed.
