Off topic:UHD player w/1080 region free FW Players? Stationary.

So, I have a uhd ripper bought from a member here, and use makemkv as well.

I want to expand on a UHD region FW upgradable player for 1080p blurays.

Not optical/portable but stationary under my tv.

I cannot find a suitable forum for what I think I need.

UHD player w/1080 region free FW Players?


From my understanding, a UHD player depending on the brand could be flashed to be region free?

Explanation, I have UHD collection and also 1080p. I have a few 1080p UK version like 2005 the fog.

I am in the USA.

Panasonic/Sony? ?

Am new to the scene of UHD/1080p/dvd player but not FW flashing.

What options are here in the usa?

Modded FW providers?

Suggestions/solutions?

FYI: there's no such thing as a region free player for blurays along the lines of what existed for DVDs, as region coding is done differently. The best one has is bluray player that you can manually cycle through all 3 possible regions if it fails to play due to a region mishmatch, but you still have to cycle manually vs DVDs where this generally did not have to be done.
