There's a spot on that disc that the optical drive doesn't like.

If cleaning the disc doesn't resolve it, you could try the disc in a different drive if you have access to one.

Regular disc players are setup to plow through spots they can't read and hope you don't notice the resulting glitch. MakeMKV tries to make a perfect copy.

hello dcoke22 thanks for ur reply . even when i copied the files from the cd to the local harddrive then got makemkv to make a mkv file from the disc files on my harddrive it still glitched out at the same point of the rip as it did with the disc . its pretty rare i get this type of bug , but it does happen . i got a new disc in the mail yesterday & it worked , totally ripped fine . its like something within the file structure fails & then renders the disc useless with ripping , i dont understand it . thanks

I just started using makemkv til rip uhd discs, and getting many of the same errors as you, my fear is that this is a drive issue that it's not as friendly til uhd as i should like it to be :) these drives wasn't made for 100GB discs, could be the issue, but also strange that you managed to copy all of the files of the disc (from the same drive i presume), to your harddrive without issues! There might be just one thing, someone can correct me here, before i started ripping the disc, i make started scanning it (going through the files errors and so on), i cancled it half through, the i started ripping after that (choosing title, subs audio etc), and when i ripped it, it failed with the error messages you had, 40-50% in the disc, could it be that making a .MKV it has to run through the entire disc scan?

hello , yes i used same disc drive . this is a good test to troubleshoot and work out what is faulty and what is causing it all to happen. makemkv will also make a mkv video file from the copy & pasted files from the disc , this test isolates ur ripper drive . this pointed me to some sort of fault within the file structure on the disc , this isnt a rare fault , ive come across a few times now . my belief is that these discs are not perfect they have have glitches & bugs within them sometimes , always start ur troubleshooting with the cheap free & easy stuff 1st , like i do , most stores should always swap the disc over for another , one day i may end up with another ripper drive for a test subject but not atm though . thanks
