Hi i am finally looking to back up my HD-dvd's and have hit a problem they are backing up with an E-AC-3 audio track (using any dvd and makemkv)
Now my amp only supports dd5.1\dts and they are playing in 2 channel but showing as a 3\2.1 track in vlc
So before i go any further (tried 3 discs all the same result) is this correct makemkv is backing them up okay with the DD+ audio and its just bad luck that my amp doesnt play them.
If this is correct is there anyway around it, i would like to have them all backed up as original and later on get a suitable amp, but get a DD5.1 sound now(will be using Mp with SAF to play them)
Thanks
Robert

Yes, MakeMKV just puts e-ac3 streams as is. You can use application called eac3to to transcode MKV files with such streams.
