ILLEGAL REQUEST:ILLEGAL MODE FOR THIS TRACK - Audio Discs

Post by araan »

New, so apologies for the question.

Trying rip some new Japanese audio discs so I can listen to the music when I am not at my computer. The discs play fine listening at the computer.

I have changed the firmware on my Asus BW-16D1HT to 3.1 and was able to successfully rip a test old video Blu Ray I had to hand. However when I try any of the 8 discs from the set I just get the below Scsi errors (with same offset numbers).

Have I missed something obvious or is it just that the drive can rip some discs OK but not others?

MakeMKV v1.17.4 win(x64-release) started

I... I guess I'm confused. It says "Current profile: CD-ROM" and "Data capacity: 0.65 Gb". Are you putting an audio CD into the drive? Because AFAIK MakeMKV has no support for ripping audio CDs. It supports DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, and UltraHD Blu-ray Discs (with appropriate drives), but not Red Book audio CDs. There are lots of tools that are good for that task, depending on your OS, but MakeMKV isn't one of them.

I want to kiss you and cry.

They release so much of the music as Blu-ray, I had not checked if this one was before I started... I guess at least I am prepared for next time.

Thank you!
